Good morning.
Well, there are 20 days left, until Christmas, and here I am creating a new blog instead of baking and shopping and pulling my hair out trying to get everything done. I have decided to take a much more laid back approach, to the holidays, this year. After all, it is not about the cookies, and presents, and credit card bills. Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Christ, with our friends and families. If I know anything, it is that being frazzled, stressed, drunk or bloated from eating too much raw cookie dough is not going to bring peace or joy, to anyone.
So, here I sit, creating a blog - what is a blog? I have no idea. And, I am at the bottom end, of the learing curve, when it comes to technology. At some point, I may have to ask the boys to help; but, not yet. If everyone is patient and I don't get too frustrated, this may be a fun way to communicate with my family and for me to excercise my passion for taking pictures of my pets, my laundry, the trees, the birds, and anything else that I fancy.
Today started off well. French toast and apple juice, for the boys, lunches packed and laundry begun. The usual dirth of morning chores await. Lucky me, I get to go out for lunch - to the Polish Bakery, on Queen St., with Christine. Yet another birthday lunch! It is wonderful to have so many friends that want to celebrate my birthday, with me. This year's celebration has lasted a full month! With a help of some cash gifts, from my wonderful parents, and husband, I bought my new camera, on Saturday. What a riot that was. We shopped at the Super Centre - next time we'll bring water, sleeping matts, and GPS along! The great thing was that by buying the camera there (on sale) we also got a free Christmas tree and a $25 gift certificate. Leave it to me to find that kind of bargain. Must be my Dutch heritage shining through. Well, I digress, from the daily news. Today, will be lovely, despite the lack of sunshine. I will clean, knit, go for lunch, walk the dog, and play with my new camera. Expect many pictures, in the future.
The boys are going to a school hockey game, after classes. Both left, this morning, whining about sore "flu shot" arms. Not quite as tough as they think they are. Scott left, without breakfast - and headed to the lab for blood work. Poor guy - a couple of bran muffins, a banana, and thermos coffee are a poor substitue for french toast. Well, at least the muffins are homemade and the coffee is hot.
That's all for now - not a very interesting tale, from the cottage; but, it is only 8:00 a.m. There is a whole world of things just waiting to happen. I wonder what surpises God has instore for me, today. I hope your day is full of wonderful people, smiles and surprises.
Blessings, Lisa
